Diamond Island is a island on the banks of Phnom Penh transformed by real estate developers – it is the symbol of the Cambodia of tomorrow, an ultra-modern paradise for the wealthy. Bora is 18, and like many other country dwellers of his age, he leaves his home to work on a construction site in Phnom Penh. He befriends other workers, until he finds his older brother, the charismatic Solei, who disappeared 5 years ago. Solei shows Bora his world, the world of the urban youth, wealthy and without limits, with its girls, its nights and its illusions.
